About Us

The Appaloosas in my life started on 1976 when I traded a stereo for my first Appaloosa mare," Malibu Apache Princess ". This beautiful journey has progressed from there. In a teenage girl's dream come true, my horses have been my life, my job and my love. In 1985, after years of searching. We purchased our (now) Senior stallion,  "Straw Sham". We bought him off the DKG Ranch in Aubrey, TX were "Romans Straw Man' was standing at stud. Sham is one of the last sons of Romans Straw Man and has proven to be a wise investment. By 1987 my life changed with my husband Barry coming into the picture, Now I have a partner , great horses and a dream! Barry and I had a ranch in Corona, California with who I think is one of the best trainers around, Carole Boylan. Carole worked with our horses, showed them and taught me. Thank you Carole for everything you've done for me and our horses. Carole now lives in Florida where she's nice and warm. In 1991 We moved across country to the beautiful state of Wisconsin, leaving sunny California behind us. Living in the snow was quite a change for us and the horses, but we managed and adjusted to the switch. It wasn't long before we realized that we needed an indoor arena for riding or lessons in the winter. That's when we purchased the ranch in 1993. When we moved here from California, we did not know anyone and didn't know our way around. It wasn't long before the great people of Wisconsin helped me through that. Since then we have have a great group of people around us . We have put together a fun 4-H group " Rising Riders" that I'm the General Leader for.  I've been elected to the Jr. Fair board as the Horse project Rep.  From there I was elected to the Fair Board for the Central Wisconsin State Fair. Several years later I was asked to Chair and put together the Horse Expo we named the Central Wisconsin Horse Expo. We had 3 great years doing it for the Fair Association and now we have decided to run it privately. We hope you enjoy our site and find something that pleases you as much as it has Barry and myself.

Thank You  Debbie & Barry  Parsons
